We needed to reduce the cloud infrastructure costs for Docswell, so we compared multiple services and chose OCI for its comprehensive cloud offerings, including simple containers, HeatWave MySQL, and reasonable outbound data transfer charges. After a smooth migration, we achieved significant cost reductions with OCI.

Yusuke KawabataCEO, UPLUCID

UPLUCID is digital solutions provider based in Japan. Its slide-sharing platform, called Docswell, serves around 300,000 users and handles over 6 million accesses each month. As the business expanded, the rising infrastructure costs on Google Cloud became a major challenge for the company. To reduce costs, UPLUCID migrated the Docswell application from Google Cloud to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). In the process, the company adopted multiple OCI services, such as OCI Cache (a fully managed Redis service to store frequently accessed data to enhance performance and response times), Container Instances, Container Registry, Heatwave MySQL, and OCI Queue. The migration was seamless, resulting in a 65% cost savings, with 50% of that coming from the lower data transfer costs offered by HeatWave MySQL.
