Dynamic filter in FAW for Fiscal Year

Hi,
I am trying to create a filter in FAW workbook that shows last 3 Fiscal Years dynamically, say FY2021, FY2022 and FY2023 and users can select/deselect the options as per their requirement. I tried to create a parameter but it only let us select one particular option as the default value whereas I want all the years to be selected by default, also it doesn't seem to be working fine as it just shows the value that is selected as initial value in the LOV and doesn't show all the three Fiscal Years.
Can anyone help me with this?

Hi @CarolineAnderson, I was able to create the dynamic filter for Fiscal Year as expected by using parameter. I was not able to do so earlier because somehow multi select option wasn't working for me, but now It works. So, I created a parameter and put up a SQL to get last 3 years dynamically in the possible values and used same query in the initial value.

Hi @Dinky Dudeja , would you mind posting what you're currently using for the parameter? Have you checked out the Oracle Analytics Youtube channel? They have a couple videos that may be helpful for you. I am also trying to create dynamic fiscal period selection through parameters, so I am struggling with a similar issue.

Does clicking the "Allow Multi-Select" toggle in the Edit Parameter screen, and then in the "Initial Fields" area, adding multiple options using either the + button work for you?

Yup, that works.

I need to create a dynamic column in an FAW report. For example, when a user selects a specific period from the parameter, the report should display the net amount corresponding to that selected period.
Also, I have another question — in OTBI, there's an option called "New Calculated Item." Is there a similar feature available in FAW reports?
If you have any documentation or references related to FAW, please share them.
Thanks For your prompt response0 -

Check out this video - it was published relatively recently (after Dinky's above solution in 2023) so it may be a little easier to accomplish now due to updated features in the product:Also, there are a lot of related videos regarding parameters on the Oracle Analytics YouTube channel - I typically just use the search functionality within the channel to find them when I need a refresher :)
As for your second question, can you please make a separate forum post for it so other users can find the answers if they have the same question?
Thanks!1
