'SOAP Web Service Receivables Standard Receipt and Receipt Application' performance issue

We are using Oracle provided 'SOAP Web Service Receivables Standard Receipt and Receipt Application' to apply receipts in Fusion and have some receipts that have 400,000 applications to do and this takes 36 hours to complete in Production. Has anyone experienced this issue and is there a way to improve this performance?
